Recon Edge CARE, Warranty & Buying Policies

Effective Date: August 17, 2026

Last Updated: August 17, 2026

This Recon Edge CARE, Warranty & Buying Policies document (“Policy”) governs your use of the Recon Tactical Gear LLC website at gearfromrecon.com (the “Website”), your purchases from Recon Tactical Gear LLC (“Recon,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), your participation in our live-commerce events, and your use of the Recon Limited Lifetime Warranty and Recon Edge CARE program.

By using the Website, purchasing from us, participating in a Recon live show or auction, or submitting a warranty or maintenance request, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this Policy, subject to any additional terms imposed by the purchasing platform, including Whatnot.

Nothing in this Policy limits any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable federal or state law.

1. Company and Website Information

Recon Tactical Gear LLC is a Tennessee-based company offering tactical, outdoor, everyday-carry (“EDC”), knife, trauma, preparedness, and related equipment.

The Website is primarily a product showcase and information resource. Unless a particular page states otherwise, products displayed on the Website are not purchased directly through a Website checkout. Recon products may be offered through linked Whatnot Buy It Now listings, Recon live shows, auctions, or other purchasing channels operated or authorized by Recon.

Product availability, pricing, descriptions, condition, included accessories, and purchasing instructions may vary by listing and platform. The terms displayed on the applicable purchasing platform may supplement this Policy and may control where the platform’s rules apply.

2. Website Usage Guidelines

You agree to use the Website lawfully, responsibly, and in a manner that does not interfere with our operations or the experience of other customers.

You may not:

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any portion of the Website or any Website feature at any time. We may also restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect Recon, our customers, our platforms, or our community.

3. Buying Guidelines

3.1 Product Information

We strive to provide useful, accurate, and educational product descriptions and demonstrations. Product images, video, color, dimensions, condition descriptions, and other details may vary due to lighting, camera equipment, manufacturing tolerances, screen settings, or the condition of a particular item.

You are responsible for reviewing the applicable listing, asking questions before purchasing or bidding, and confirming that a product is suitable for your intended use.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, a product demonstration is not a guarantee of performance, condition, compatibility, durability, availability, or fitness for your particular purpose.

3.2 Customer Responsibility

Before purchasing, you are responsible for determining whether:

Recon does not provide legal advice concerning the purchase, possession, carry, transportation, modification, or use of knives, medical gear, trauma gear, firearms-related accessories, tactical equipment, or other regulated products. Laws may vary by country, state, county, city, and other jurisdiction.

You agree not to purchase or use any product for an unlawful purpose or in a manner that violates applicable law, platform rules, manufacturer instructions, or safety requirements.

3.3 Live Commerce and Whatnot Purchases

When you participate in a Recon live show, auction, or other live-commerce event, you must follow the rules of the applicable platform, including Whatnot’s terms, auction rules, buyer-protection rules, and community guidelines.

Unless the applicable platform expressly provides otherwise:

Whatnot or another applicable platform may have authority to address certain platform-related issues, including clear bidding errors, technical malfunctions, payment problems, suspected fraud, buyer-protection claims, or other exceptions identified in its rules. Where a platform’s rules or applicable law require a different result, those rules or requirements control.

3.4 Third-Party Products

Recon may offer products manufactured by third parties. Unless expressly identified as a Recon-manufactured product, an item is not covered by the Recon Limited Lifetime Warranty or Recon Edge CARE.

Third-party products may be subject to the original manufacturer’s warranty, if any, and to the return, refund, and buyer-protection rules of the applicable purchasing platform. Recon is not the manufacturer of third-party products and does not adopt or expand a third-party manufacturer’s warranties.

4. Recon Limited Lifetime Warranty

4.1 Covered Products

The Recon Limited Lifetime Warranty applies only to products manufactured for and by Recon, including Recon’s own in-house products and originals (collectively, “Recon Products”).

Recon Products may include products such as:

This list is illustrative and may change as Recon introduces, modifies, or retires products. The Recon Limited Lifetime Warranty does not apply to products merely sold, displayed, or featured by Recon if those products were manufactured by another company.

4.2 What the Warranty Covers

The Recon Limited Lifetime Warranty covers deficiencies or defects that were present in the product at the time of sale or delivery, including a product that arrives broken, materially defective, or materially different from the condition represented at the time of purchase.

You must report a suspected covered issue within seven (7) calendar days after the product arrives.

The warranty does not cover damage, wear, or deterioration that occurs after delivery or after the time of sale, including damage caused by:

The warranty does not cover defects or conditions that were clearly disclosed before purchase, shown during a live demonstration, identified in the listing, or otherwise accepted as part of the sale.

4.3 Warranty Remedies

If we determine that a product has a covered defect, Recon may, in our discretion:

  1. Replace the product with the same or a comparable product;
  2. Refund the purchase price through the original payment method or applicable purchasing platform;
  3. Repair or correct the product and return it to you; or
  4. Offer another remedy that we determine is reasonable under the circumstances.

The availability of a particular remedy may depend on inventory, product availability, the applicable purchasing platform, shipping requirements, and applicable law.

A repair, replacement, or refund does not expand the scope or duration of this Limited Lifetime Warranty. Replacement products may be new, refurbished, or functionally equivalent, where permitted by law and reasonably available.

4.4 How to Submit a Warranty Claim

To report a suspected covered defect, contact Recon within seven (7) calendar days after delivery through one of the following channels:

Your request should include, when reasonably available:

Do not send a product to Recon unless we provide return instructions or authorize the return. We may request photographs, video, packaging information, or other evidence before authorizing a remedy.

You must comply with any applicable Whatnot or platform deadlines in addition to the seven-day Recon reporting period. If a platform provides a shorter deadline for reporting a covered issue, you should contact both Recon and the platform promptly and follow the shorter deadline.

4.5 Warranty Eligibility and Proof of Purchase

We may request reasonable proof that the product was purchased through Recon or an authorized Recon purchasing channel. We may also verify the product’s authenticity, serial number, markings, design, packaging, or other identifying information.

The Recon Limited Lifetime Warranty does not apply to counterfeit products, products whose origin cannot reasonably be verified, or products purchased through unauthorized channels, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

5. Recon Edge CARE Program

5.1 Program Overview

Recon Edge CARE is a discretionary maintenance program for qualifying Recon pocket knives manufactured for and by Recon.

Recon Edge CARE is separate from, and does not replace or expand, the Recon Limited Lifetime Warranty. A knife may qualify for Edge CARE maintenance even when the requested service concerns normal maintenance or wear rather than a covered warranty defect. However, eligibility for maintenance is not guaranteed.

5.2 Potential Maintenance Services

Depending on the knife’s condition, authenticity, construction, safety, and serviceability, Recon Edge CARE may include free maintenance for the life of the qualifying knife, such as:

The services listed above are examples only. Edge CARE does not guarantee that every listed service will be available for every knife or every request.

Recon may decline to perform a requested service if the service is unsafe, impractical, unavailable, inconsistent with the knife’s construction, likely to damage the product, or outside the scope of routine maintenance.

5.3 Case-by-Case Approval

All Recon Edge CARE requests are reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis at Recon’s discretion.

Recon may deny or limit maintenance when we determine that:

A denial of Edge CARE maintenance does not necessarily determine whether a separate warranty, return, or legal remedy exists.

5.4 Counterfeit Knives

If Recon reasonably determines that a submitted knife is counterfeit or otherwise unauthorized, we may retain and destroy the knife to the extent permitted by applicable law and platform rules.

A counterfeit knife will not be returned, serviced, repaired, replaced, or refunded by Recon under Edge CARE. By submitting a knife for Edge CARE inspection, you acknowledge and accept this condition, subject to any non-waivable rights under applicable law.

5.5 Shipping for Approved Edge CARE Service

For an approved Edge CARE maintenance service, Recon will pay the shipping cost to return the serviced knife to you.

Unless Recon provides different written instructions, you are responsible for safely packaging and shipping the knife to Recon for inspection or maintenance. Do not ship a knife to Recon before receiving instructions or authorization.

You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and carrier requirements governing the shipment of knives and other products. Recon is not responsible for items that are lost, stolen, improperly packaged, or damaged before they are received by Recon.

Recon may require a signature, insurance, tracking, or another shipping method for an Edge CARE submission.

5.6 No Guaranteed Turnaround Time

Edge CARE services are subject to product condition, workload, parts availability, shipping, and other circumstances. Recon does not guarantee a specific service or turnaround time unless we provide a written commitment for a particular request.

6. Returns and Refunds

6.1 General Rule

Return and refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Except where required by applicable law, an approved return is not automatic and is not guaranteed merely because you changed your mind, ordered the wrong item, no longer want the item, or found a different product.

Any return or refund must be approved through the original purchasing channel or through Recon’s authorized support process, as applicable. Do not mail an item to Recon without receiving return instructions.

6.2 Defective Recon Products

If a Recon Product arrives defective or broken, you must report the issue within seven (7) calendar days after delivery through the Website support channel or the original purchasing platform’s support channel that directly reaches Recon.

A defective product may be handled under the Recon Limited Lifetime Warranty. Depending on the circumstances, Recon may provide a replacement, refund, repair, or another appropriate remedy at our discretion.

For Whatnot purchases, you must also follow Whatnot’s then-current buyer-protection and seller-support process, including any required photographs, videos, return labels, return deadlines, and inspection procedures. Whatnot may make or require a refund determination under its own policies.

6.3 Whatnot Returns

Purchases made through Whatnot are subject to Whatnot’s terms, buyer-protection rules, return procedures, and deadlines.

Recon may review a Whatnot return request on a case-by-case basis, but Recon is not obligated to accept a return or provide a refund outside the remedies required by applicable law, the applicable Whatnot policy, or an express written agreement from Recon.

Where a Whatnot policy provides a specific remedy or requires a platform-directed process, you must use that process. Recon may not be able to override Whatnot’s decision, deadline, payment process, or return instructions.

6.4 Condition of Approved Returns

Unless otherwise instructed by Recon or Whatnot, an approved return must be sent:

We may deny or reduce a refund to the extent permitted by applicable law if a returned item is materially different from the item sold, is missing included components, has additional damage, or is not returned as instructed.

6.5 Refund Processing

Approved refunds are generally issued to the original payment method or processed through the original purchasing platform. Processing times may depend on the payment processor, financial institution, Whatnot, or another platform.

Recon does not control the time required for a third-party platform or financial institution to post an approved refund.

6.6 Exchanges

Recon is not required to provide an exchange unless we expressly approve one in writing or an exchange is required by applicable law or platform policy. If a replacement is approved, the replacement may be the same product or a comparable product, depending on availability.

7. Cancellations

7.1 Auction Purchases

After a Whatnot auction has been won, the purchase is binding. A buyer is not automatically entitled to cancel the transaction.

Recon’s default position for a buyer-requested cancellation after an auction has been won is to decline the cancellation request.

Recon may review a cancellation request on a case-by-case basis and may approve cancellation only when, in our judgment, cancellation is necessary or appropriate under the circumstances. Examples may include a clear listing or platform error, an inventory issue, a verified payment or technical problem, or another exceptional circumstance.

A request for cancellation does not guarantee approval. You should not bid with the expectation that you can cancel later.

Whatnot may independently permit, require, or impose a cancellation under its rules, including in connection with bidding errors, technical issues, payment problems, platform interventions, suspected fraud, or applicable consumer rights.

If a cancellation is required by applicable law or by the applicable platform, this Policy will be interpreted consistently with that requirement.

7.3 Cancellation Before Shipment

If Recon approves a cancellation before shipment, any refund will generally be processed through the original purchasing platform and may be subject to platform procedures, fees, timing, or limitations.

If an order has shipped or is in transit, cancellation may no longer be available. The issue may instead need to be handled through the applicable return, refund, delivery-claim, or buyer-protection process.

7.4 Recon-Initiated Cancellations

Recon may cancel an order when reasonably necessary, including when an item is unavailable, a listing contains a material error, payment cannot be completed, fraud or abuse is suspected, the transaction violates applicable law or platform rules, or fulfillment is not reasonably possible.

If Recon cancels an order, any refund will generally be processed through the original purchasing channel.

8. Safety and Product Disclaimer

Recon offers products that may involve knives, cutting edges, medical or trauma applications, mechanical components, batteries, tools, and other potentially hazardous equipment.

You are solely responsible for:

Product demonstrations, including demonstrations conducted during Whatnot live shows, are provided for general informational and educational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional instruction, medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, legal advice, or individualized safety guidance.

Medical, trauma, bleeding-control, and preparedness products—including the RT-1 Windlass Tourniquet and similar products—are preparedness and response tools. Product information and demonstrations do not create a doctor-patient relationship and do not guarantee a medical outcome. You should obtain qualified instruction before using medical or trauma equipment in an emergency.

Recon does not guarantee that any product will prevent injury, save a life, perform in every circumstance, or satisfy your particular needs. You should contact a qualified medical professional or emergency service when appropriate.

9. Limited Warranty Disclaimer

LIMITED WARRANTY; DISCLAIMER OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Recon Limited Lifetime Warranty described in this Policy is the express warranty provided by Recon for qualifying Recon Products.

Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, Recon disclaims all implied warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability and any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose. Any warranty that cannot lawfully be disclaimed is limited to the applicable period and remedies required by law.

Recon does not authorize any person to create a warranty, representation, or obligation on Recon’s behalf that is not expressly stated in this Policy or in a written document authorized by Recon.

This Section does not eliminate or limit any consumer rights that applicable law does not permit Recon to waive or limit.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Recon Tactical Gear LLC and its owners, members, officers, employees, agents, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to:

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Recon’s total aggregate liability arising from a product purchase or claim under this Policy will not exceed the amount you paid Recon for the specific product giving rise to the claim.

These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or other matters that applicable law protects from limitation.

Recon may link to or use third-party services, including Whatnot, payment services, shipping providers, manufacturers, and other platforms.

Those third parties maintain their own terms, privacy policies, fees, procedures, and rules. Recon is not responsible for the availability, security, content, policies, decisions, or performance of third-party platforms.

Your use of Whatnot or another purchasing platform is governed by your agreement with that platform. If this Policy conflicts with a mandatory platform rule regarding a platform transaction, the mandatory platform rule controls for that transaction.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our products, programs, purchasing channels, platform requirements, business practices, or applicable law.

The updated Policy will be posted on the Website with a revised “Last Updated” date. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, the updated Policy applies to purchases and requests made after the effective date of the update.

The version of this Policy in effect when you made your purchase generally governs that purchase, subject to applicable law, platform rules, and any written terms provided with the product.

13. Governing Law

This Policy and any dispute arising from or relating to it will be governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent that applicable federal law or non-waivable consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

Any dispute must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction, subject to any applicable platform dispute process, arbitration agreement, or other mandatory dispute-resolution requirement.

14. General Terms

If any provision of this Policy is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

Our failure to enforce a provision of this Policy does not waive our right to enforce it later.

This Policy does not create an agency, partnership, joint venture, employment, franchise, or other special relationship between you and Recon.

This Policy, together with the applicable product listing, purchasing-platform terms, and any written terms expressly incorporated into your transaction, constitutes the agreement governing the subjects addressed here.

15. Contact and Support

For questions about the Recon Limited Lifetime Warranty, Recon Edge CARE, returns, cancellations, or a product purchased directly from Recon, contact us through the support channel available at gearfromrecon.com.

For a Whatnot purchase, you may also contact Whatnot through the support channel associated with the original transaction. Include your order information, product details, and photographs or video when reasonably available so that we can review your request efficiently.
